WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The annual Weaverville Christmas Parade returns for its regularly scheduled December merriment this weekend.

The parade will run down Main Street at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, from the State Employees Credit Union parking lot to Weaverville Elementary School.

Weaverville Town Council member Doug Jackson will take the helm of the parade as the Grand Marshal.

“This year we are honored to have Council member Doug Jackson at the helm of our Holiday Parade as Grand Marshal,” the town of Weaverville wrote on their website. “Doug’s tenure began on Town Council in 2007. Previously he has worked tirelessly on the Weaverville Economic Development Committee, the Nature Park Committee, as well as the Patriotic Committee and numerous local civic activities.”

Jackson will be followed by an array of local floats and marchers.

All parade-related questions can be directed to Mike DeSerio at (828) 658-5816.
