You know you’ve made it when they know you by only one name.
You know her by her laugh, or scent of pumpkin spice. Crystal is a 20-
year veteran to the radio industry as in her words, “I’m just getting
warmed up!”. Radio has been the one constant in her life and is her
true passion.
Crystal grew up in Eastern North Carolina, and as such, has a love of
vinegary barbecue (not that crappy sweet stuff) and the beach. She
was a band geek from 6th grade through college at East Carolina where
she was donned the title ECU Marching Pirate! Arrrrgh-uably she
loved it so much that she had big yellow vinyl letters placed on the
back of her first car, a teal Pontiac Grand Am, that read, “This One
Time at Band Camp”. Yes, she was a red headed flute player when
American Pie was a hit, so you can imagine the jokes she’s heard.
She moved to the Mountains of WNC in 2006 when she followed her
then Marine husband to Asheville for recruiting duty. It was about
that time she became a member of the radio family of the ARG.
Crystal manages a house of 4 kids, two of her own, and
two of her soon-to-be husband, “JP”…along with a rescue
dog named Cider. Her home and family provide tons of
hilariously relatable stories to share.
