Some people say Asheville’s already full but Shannon’s thankful there was room for one more.

Shannon started her radio career in her hometown of Birmingham and has travelled the country hosting radio shows with stops in Atlanta, Fresno, Nashville and Jackson. She’s proud to call Asheville home and spend each afternoon hosting the drive home on Mix 96.5.  Shannon has proudly supported and volunteered for many worthwhile causes including Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Miracle Network and organizations that help victims of human trafficking and domestic violence.

Shannon’s passion for radio comes from her love of music and a childhood dream. When she was 12 her family was on a road trip listening to the radio and she mentioned she was going to work in radio some day. That dream came true when she got behind a microphone at her college radio station at the age of 17. For decades Shannon’s been able to do what she loves and connect with listeners by sharing life and stories that create connection with the community.

Shannon’s natural storytelling ability and history nerd status has helped her connect with listeners worldwide through her podcast, Southern Mysteries. The historical nonfiction storytelling podcast explores history and mysteries of the American South. With nearly two million downloads the independent podcast shares unique takes on true crime, folklore, and mysteries.

When she’s not researching and writing her next podcast episode, Shannon’s on the road exploring historical locations across the region and sharing photos and videos on her Instagram. She loves hiking, is obsessed with British TV and film and is a coffee snob who finds it hard to understand why anyone would put cream and sugar in a perfectly good cup of coffee.
