Dog Day Afternoon Pawsport Contest Official Rules


The Dog Day Afternoon Pawsport Contest will be conducted on Saturday, May 9, 2026, during Dog Day Afternoon at Lake Julian Park.

Beginning at 12:00 p.m., the first 200 eligible attendees who visit the Mix 96.5 or La Pantera 97.3 promotional tent may receive one (1) official Dog Day Afternoon Pawsport, while supplies last.

Participants must visit designated participating sponsor booths throughout the event area to receive required Pawsport stamps. Once all required stamps have been collected, participants must return the completed Pawsport to the Mix 96.5 or La Pantera 97.3 tent and complete an official entry form no later than 2:45 p.m.

Only fully completed Pawsports with all required valid stamps and a completed official entry form will be eligible for the grand prize drawing.

If any designated participating sponsor is not present or unable to participate on the day of the event, that sponsor will be removed from the list of required stamps, and participants will not be required to obtain that stamp for eligibility.

One (1) winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Winner does not need to be present to win.

Prize: One (1) Grand Prize of $1,000 awarded by Asheville Media Group. Prize will be awarded in the form of a company check payable to verified winner. Prize is non-transferable.

Prize Claim: Winner must complete all required winner verification and release documents before prize is awarded. Asheville Media Group will process the prize within ten (10) business days after receipt of completed paperwork. Prize pickup will take place at Asheville Media Group, 1190 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806.

Eligibility

This contest is open to all eligible participants who are legal residents of North Carolina, age 18 or older, who have not won anything from WTMT, WOXL, WOXL-HD2, WTMT-HD2, WTMT-HD3, or WISE in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $2,000 or more in the past six months.

Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner.

Any prize awarded to an ineligible entrant will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Taxes / Responsibility

Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes, fees, and incidentals.

Asheville Media Group’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize. Asheville Media Group will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use the prize.

Employee Restrictions

Employees of 828newsNOW.com, 105.9 The Mountain, Mix 96.5, 98.1 The River, 105.5 The Outlaw, 100.3 Rewind, La Pantera 97.3, WISE Sports Radio, Asheville Radio Group, Saga Communications of North Carolina, LLC, Saga Communications, Inc., participating sponsors, affiliated agencies, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of 1190 Patton Avenue are not eligible to win. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is a current legal guardian.

General Conditions

Asheville Media Group reserves the right to disqualify any entry suspected of fraud, tampering, rule violations, or unsportsmanlike conduct. Asheville Media Group reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest if circumstances beyond its control make continuation impossible.

All contest decisions, rule interpretations, winner determinations, and prize administration are solely the responsibility of Asheville Media Group. Participating sponsors and promotional partners are not authorized to modify contest rules, determine eligibility, select winners, substitute prizes, or make representations inconsistent with these Official Rules.

Any reference to a “Prize Sponsor” or similar promotional designation reflects sponsorship recognition only. Unless expressly stated otherwise in these Official Rules, Asheville Media Group is solely responsible for awarding the advertised prize.
