Dog Day Afternoon is an exciting day of FREE fun for the whole family with dog activities, dog rescue and entertaining shows from rescue dogs with Canines in the Clouds! If you’re looking to adopt, come out to meet available dogs from local rescue groups. If you already have a dog – bring them along with your family and friends to enjoy the day at Lake Julian. They can play in our off leash play area for big or small dogs. Costumes are encouraged for you and your dog to compete in the best dressed dog contest and the pet and owner lookalike contest. You can sign up onsite for all contests.
There will be food trucks plus pet booths featuring a wide variety of pet care, pet products, pet training and tasty treats for your dogs.
Event Info
When: Saturday, September 13 at Lake Julian Park, 406 Overlook Extension, Arden, NC 28704. **Be sure to enter the park off of Long Shoals Road, near the Wild Wing Cafe (not the entrance on Hendersonville Road).
Parking
You can park inside the park or in the gravel lot at Wild Wing Cafe. There is a trail that leads from the parking lot to the park. There is limited parking, so we encourage carpooling to the event.
