Dog Day Afternoon – Event Info
Join us for Dog Day Afternoon, Saturday, May 9 from noon to 3 p.m. at Lake Julian Park. It’s free fun for you and your dogs, presented by SanStone Health & Rehabilitation! Join in the fun with dog activities, rescue groups, pet-related booths, a pet photo area by Indulge Images, and an off-leash play area for small and large dogs, courtesy of Asheville Fencing.
Want a shot at winning $1,000? The first 200 attendees* can stop by the Mix 96.5 or La Pantera 97.3 tent to pick up a Dog Day Afternoon Pawsport, presented by SanStone Health & Rehabilitation. Visit participating sponsor booths to collect all required stamps and return your completed Pawsport to the radio station tent to complete an entry form for your chance to win. The on-site grand prize drawing is at 3 p.m and winner does not need to be present to win.
There will be food trucks plus pet booths featuring a wide variety of pet care, pet products, pet training and pet friendly businesses who can’t wait to meet you and your adorable dogs!

Lake Julian Park is located at 406 Overlook Extension in Arden.
**Be sure to enter the park off of Long Shoals Road, near the Wild Wing Cafe (not the entrance on Hendersonville Road).
Parking
You can park inside the park or in the gravel lot at Wild Wing Cafe. There is a trail that leads from the parking lot to the park. There is limited parking, so we encourage carpooling to the event.

Dog Day Afternoon Pawsport Contest Rules
The Dog Day Afternoon Pawsport Contest will be conducted on Saturday, May 9, 2026, during Dog Day Afternoon at Lake Julian Park. Beginning at 12:00 p.m., the first 200 eligible attendees who visit the Mix 96.5 or La Pantera 97.3 promotional tent may receive one (1) official Dog Day Afternoon Pawsport, while supplies last.
Participants must visit designated participating sponsor booths throughout the event area to receive required Pawsport stamps. Once all required stamps have been collected, participants must return the completed Pawsport to the Mix 96.5 or La Pantera 97.3 tent and complete an official entry form no later than 2:45 p.m.
Only fully completed Pawsports with all required valid stamps and a completed official entry form will be eligible for the grand prize drawing.
If any designated participating sponsor is not present or unable to participate on the day of the event, that sponsor will be removed from the list of required stamps, and participants will not be required to obtain that stamp for eligibility.
One (1) winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Winner does not need to be present to win.
One (1) Grand Prize of $1,000 awarded by Asheville Media Group. Prize will be awarded in the form of a company check payable to verified winner. Prize is non-transferable.
Winner must complete all required winner verification and release documents before prize is awarded. Asheville Media Group will process the prize within ten (10) business days after receipt of completed paperwork. Prize pickup will take place at Asheville Media Group, 1190 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806.
This contest is open to all eligible participants who are legal residents of North Carolina, age 18 or older, who have not won anything from WTMT, WOXL, WOXL-HD2, WTMT-HD2, WTMT-HD3, or WISE in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $2,000 or more in the past six months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible entrant will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.
Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes, fees, and incidentals.
Asheville Media Group’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize. Asheville Media Group will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use the prize.

Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is a current legal guardian.
Asheville Media Group reserves the right to disqualify any entry suspected of fraud, tampering, rule violations, or unsportsmanlike conduct. Asheville Media Group reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest if circumstances beyond its control make continuation impossible.

Participating sponsors and promotional partners are not authorized to modify contest rules, determine eligibility, select winners, substitute prizes, or make representations inconsistent with these Official Rules.
