Go Play in Apple Orchards this Weekend!

The North Carolina Apple Festival is NOT cancelled; it just looks different this year.

-YES you can still get pancakes! The Kiwanis Club of Hendersonville will kick off its centennial year by giving out “pancake breakfast to-go” Kiwanis Club members will give away preassembled bags at the Hendersonville Farmers Market and in the 400 block of Main Street. It happen Saturday starting at 9 am.

-YES – you can still get your apples! Instead of the growers coming to you, you get to visit the farms. And in some cases that also means shooting apple cannons, getting lost in a massive corn maze and enjoying wagon rides in addition to picking your own apples and noshing on fried apple pies and apple ice cream.

-YES there’s something cool happening on Labor Day. In lieu of the King Apple Parade, keep your eye to the sky for the Bandit Flight Team! Six planes will fly in formation over downtown Hendersonville. 12:30 flight time; the highly trained formation pilots will make two passes over the town.
