Looking for fun this New Year’s Eve and don’t want the bar/brewery scene? Check out Asheville Retrocade’s Smash in the New Year Celebration. It’s a Super Smash Brother’s Ultiimate Tourney starting at 10 pm. Champagne toast at midnight. 

Catawba Brewing on the South Slope has a unique twist: the Bright Light Biker Ride and dance party. Grab all of the Christmas lights off of your tress and deck out your bike! Then meet up at Catawba at 8 pm for a 3 to 5 mile ride through downtown Asheville followed by a dance party at the brewery starting at 9:30. 

And on New Year’s Day – start the year off with some exercise while helping your neighbors. The New Year’s Resolution 5K Run/Walk & 10 Mile Run through downtown Asheville. Still time to register; the event starts at 10 am. Proceeds benefit Western Carolina Rescue Ministries.
