Therapy Thursday – Send your 18 y/o to celebrate graduation in Mexico?

Lisa wrote us with her family dilemma.  What would you do?

My daughter is a graduating senior in high school and wants to fly to Mexico with her girlfriends to celebrate her freedom. I said absolutely no way, but my husband gave his permission before I said anything…so I feel we are deadlocked. I don’t think teenage girls should be running around Mexico without any parental supervision. My husband says he trusts our daughter’s judgment because she hasn’t done anything to make us think she’s going to get in trouble. Would you allow her to go if you were us? -Lisa
