Therapy Thursday – Update: Should Crystal contact her Bio-Father?

If you remember our very first Therapy Thursday was Crystal’s story about her bio-father. She has barely had contact with him over the years. Her father left when she was 4 weeks old, came back when she was 2, left again. She met him at 13 – stayed with his family through Thanksgiving and then by Christmas he had moved away with no heads up. In her 30’s she stumbled across his facebook page and he accepted her friend request. Over the years he may have commented on a picture here or there but never really communicated with her. Then the news came that her father fell off a 3 story roof and was barely hanging on and has been in and out of hospice since. She felt the need to reach out to the family to check on him and now he seems fine and wants to talk. She decided not to call him. But since that last Therapy Thursday session the family is reaching out to her telling her that her dad wants her to call him. She left the messages unread because she is unsure what she wants to do. Now the thought of calling her real father feels like a chore. Listen in to hear what our MIX family thinks she should do.
