Thieves Target Hope Chest for Women

Sadly there’s been a break in at a nonprofit that helps cancer patients. The Hope Chest for Women bridges the financial gap for women undergoing treatment.

As a breast cancer survivor, I know how important this service is to patients. Thankfully I was able to keep working, and my company was so supportive. That’s not the case for every woman. It’s enough to have to battle cancer without having to worry about the loss of income, how you going to buy groceries, pay for the gas to get to treatments (radiation treatments for some breast cancer patients are 5 days a week for 6 weeks!). Going through cancer treatment is hard enough without having to worry about your finances. That’s why Hope Chest for Women exists.

Unfortunately, in addition to stealing electronics, whoever did this also took about $5K in gift cards – they stole directly from cancer patients!

Hopefully police will catch up with the person who did this. In the meantime, though, cancer patients still need help. Please consider making a donation to this amazing organization!

Thank you!
-Tammy
