ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Humane Thrift Store will host a Valentine’s Tea Party from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, featuring family-friendly activities and local artists, with proceeds benefiting animals cared for by Asheville Humane Society.

Organizers say the event will include tea and cookies, face painting, crafts, a coupon scavenger hunt and a screening of the classic animated film “Alice in Wonderland” on a large movie screen.

Several local artists and makers are scheduled to participate with pop-up booths, including Rainbow Burrow Studio, caricature artist Sketchtonic, Patti Glass Creations, Yeah That’s My Art, Caroline and Phoebe, who will offer handmade crafts, stained glass, cozy pieces and baskets.

The thrift store, located on Fairview Road in Asheville, said all proceeds from the event will support animals in the care of Asheville Humane Society.
