David Lynn Candler, 1945-2024


Asheville – David Lynn Candler, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Everette Jerome Candler and Hazel Phillips Candler. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Candler; sister-in-law, Doris Candler; and brother-in-law, Johnny Riddle.

David was a Regional Account Manager for General Mills until his retirement at age 60 following more than thirty years of service with General Mills. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Cheryl G. Candler; son, John Candler and wife Lori; grandson, Grayden Candler; sister, Melba Riddle; brother, Gene Candler; sister-in-law, Brenda Candler; and nieces and nephews: Ronnie Riddle, Melanie Davis, Melina Chevalier, Carey Ballard, Leslie Smith, and Cassy Stout.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Pisgah View Memorial Park with Rev. Ed Rice officiating.
