Fire at Asheville’s Best Gem Mine temporarily shuts down Sardis Road

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Sardis Road near Brevard Road was briefly closed Friday morning after a fire broke out at Asheville’s Best Gem Mine.

Flames were seen coming from the back of the building at about 9:45 a.m. An officer was observed escorting a visibly distraught woman away from the front of the business.

No additional details were immediately available.
