MARION, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Hundreds of sasquatch celebrators turned out for the annual Bigfoot Festival this weekend in Marion, N.C.

The 2025 Bigfoot Festival included a special proclamation from Mayor Steve Little to get the festivities off on the right foot: Bigfoot was named the official Town Animal of Marion, matching the blue banners proudly flying the cryptid’s silhouette all over town.

Little moments from the 2025 Bigfoot Festival

Walking among dozens of Bigfoot merchants selling goods of all shapes and sizes, there was a cheerful air to the sasquatch aficionados and curious visitors filling the stalls.

One Nebraskan family discussed the route they had taken to make it to Marion outside the “Bigfoot-longs” hotdog stand.

A father and son walked along proudly in their “big foot” costumes.

A child on his parent’s shoulders asked “are we going to see Bigfoot now?”

“Look, he’s down there!” his parent replied. A fellow festival patron was ready for the photo opportunity in their full-furred sasquatch garb.
