ASHEVILLE, N.C. — (828newsNOW.com) – Asheville Media Group (AMG), parent company of 828newsNOW.com as well as radio stations 105.9 The Mountain, Mix 96.5, 98.1 The River, La Pantera 97.3, Rewind 100.3, 105.5 The Outlaw and WISE Sports Radio 1310AM, is thrilled to celebrate local businesses through the Best of Asheville program.

Winners were announced on Wednesday, with the complete list of winners at BestofAVL.com.

Best of Asheville invites those who live and shop in the 828 to share their love for local businesses, stores and restaurants by nominating and voting for their favorites.

This year marked the program’s fourth anniversary, and it was its biggest yet. Earlier this year, Asheville Media Group radio stations invited listeners to nominate individuals and businesses they believed were the best at what they do. Thousands of local businesses and places were nominated in 246 subcategories. The winners were decided by 131,000 votes from customers, fans and supporters.

The awards boost morale for business owners and employees, and they increase exposure for local places.

AMG takes pride in showcasing the hard work and dedication of local businesses each year. AMG Market President Tom Davis says community engagement is the heart of the contest.

“The Best of Asheville program would not succeed without the steadfast support the Asheville community provides each year,” Davis said. “We’re thrilled for the winners and appreciate everyone who voted and supported local businesses.”
