CANTON, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Shoppers in the market for teeth, bones and other oddities are in luck. This weekend, Blue Ridge Estate Liquidators will host an estate sale filled with oddities at their Canton warehouse.

The estate sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 30 through Saturday, Nov. 1, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2 in the BREL warehouse at 1252 Asheville Hwy, Canton. The Halloween estate sale marks the first of a series of sales that BREL will host at their warehouse on the first weekend of every month.

Skulls from the BREL estate sale.

According to BREL owners Mike and Connie Guyor, the items for this sale primarily originated from the personal offices of Dr. Robert Owen Jr., a dentist, and his wife, Dianne Metcalf Owen, who helped manage his dental office.

“They were in business for, I mean, my gosh, I think from ’40, maybe a little before ’40, up through ’90. When they retired, they put both of their entire offices in the basement,” said Mike Goyur.
”It’s been sitting there for 30 years, and, you know, there’s a whole skeleton, there’s skulls, there’s bones, there’s dental cabinets. I mean, there’s just the most awesome medical oddities.”

However, the oddities don’t stop there. In addition to the Owen family items, the Guyors have listed items from the home of a chauffeur for the Cecil family, owners of the Biltmore Estate.

“The owner of the house was Cecil’s chauffeur for, like, 35 years, and whenever they ran stuff through the property or through the house, they would just give it to him. So, he had lots and lots of Biltmore stuff in his house. But what we have in this estate is taxidermy,” Mike Goyur explained. “All of the taxidermy in this estate came off the Biltmore property.”
