ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — This weekend, dash like a leprechaun, hop for some pie and go for Oscars gold. Check out our activity guide for things to do in town March 13-15.

Friday, March 13

St. Paddy’s Day 5K and Little Leprechaun Dash – 10 a.m., Trailside Brewing Co., 873 Lenox Park Dr., Hendersonville

The St. Paddy’s Day 5K will be preceded by a quarter-mile Little Leprechaun Dash for the wee racers in attendance. The dash includes a finisher medal and a race bib. Come dressed in green for the race proper, registration for which includes a finisher medal, race shirt, chip timing and a Trailside beer or beverage.

St. Patrick’s Day Movie Night – 7 p.m., Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ, 135 Coxe Ave.

Bear’s BBQ will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a family-friendly movie night. “The Luck of the Irish” will be on at 7 p.m., accompanied by s’mores, popcorn, a golden egg hunt and 21+ drink specials featuring Jameson Irish Whiskey.

Hike Hardtimes Connector Trail – Hardtimes Trailhead, 375 Wesley Branch Road, Bent Creek Experimental Forest

Bent Creek Experimental Forest has a wealth of hiking trails. One that is an especially good time is the Hardtimes Connector Trail, which connects with Deer Lake Lodge Loop for a solid 2 mile hike. Read more in our hiking guide.

Saturday, March 14

The Hop Pi Day Celebration – The Hop Ice Cream Café, noon to 10 p.m., 640 Merrimon Ave.

The Hop Ice Cream Café has planned an irrational celebration for Pi Day, March 14, which honors the mathematical constant π. The pi party will feature “the beauty of the irrational — the unpredictable, the unsimplifiable, the wonderfully chaotic,” according to a press release from The Hop. Learn more in our story.

Music on the Knoll: Chronology Music – 6-7:30 p.m., Weaverville Community Center, 60 Lakeshore Dr.

The Music on the Knoll live concert series continues at the Weaverville Community Center with a performance by Chronology Music. The duo will perform a chord-less concert, with selections from their new album, “Stories We Tell.”

Vintage Market Days Asheville Spring Market10 a.m. to 4 p.m., WNC Agricultural Center

Over 130 vendors will bring their clothing, handmade goods, original artwork, antiques, plants and more to the WNC Ag Center this weekend for a massive spring market. Find tickets at events.humanitix.com/spring-2026.

Sunday, March 15

Watch the Oscars – 7 p.m., streaming on Hulu

Shamrock Festival – 2-6 p.m., Florida Avenue and Merchants Alley, Weaverville

Weaverville’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration returns this weekend. Irish dance performances, interactive games, children’s activities and a variety of local food and beverage options can all be expected at the event, in addition to a special appearance from leprechaun Paddy O’Weave.

Fringe Festival Kickoff Party – 7 p.m., One World Brewing West, 520 Haywood Road

Fringe Festival, Asheville’s annual multidisciplinary celebration of the weird, is coming back to town. The first event on the calendar is this weekend, a free kickoff celebration in West Asheville.
