ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — With St. Patrick’s Day just over the rainbow, you may be preparing for a celebration or two. Here are a few treats and appetizers you can prepare for your lucky St. Patty’s party guests.

1. Lucky Charms cereal bars

Pull out your favorite cereal bar recipe, grab a big box of Lucky Charms and prepare a platter of leprechaun-friendly treats. Cereal bars are easy to make in bulk and should require just a handful of ingredients. As one leprechaun mascot would say, they’re magically delicious.

2. Loaded baked potato bites

For an extra Irish connection, opt for loaded baked potato bites. To prepare them, simply grab a bag of your favored tater, slice them into medallion shapes, toss with butter, salt and pepper and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit with shredded cheese on top. Afterward, simply apply your favorite toppings, like sour cream, chives and bacon bits.

3. Shamrock sugar cookies

These shamrock cookies are simple as can be. After prepping your sugar cookie batter, add some green food coloring to the mix. Chill the cookie batter first, then use a cookie cutter to get your desserts in the shape of a shamrock. For more variety, prepare another cookie batch with yellow dye for “gold coins.”
