FAIRVIEW, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A 16-year-old girl and a 28-year-old man have been charged with murder after three people were found dead inside a Fairview home.
The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as 41-year-old Travis Eugene Grant, 42-year-old Kimberly Michelle Grant and 66-year-old Sharon Harwood Grant. Travis and Kimberly Grant were married. Sharon Grant was Travis Grant’s mother.
Deputies responded about 7:15 p.m. Thursday, May 7, to a welfare check call at 18 Ashworth Drive in Fairview. When deputies entered the home, they found the three victims dead. Authorities confirmed during a Friday, May 8, press conference that the victims had suffered gunshot wounds.
During the investigation, detectives determined that 16-year-old Star Grant, who lived at the Ashworth Drive residence, was missing and unaccounted for. The teen was found Friday morning in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, accompanied by 28-year-old Devan Loving.
Star Grant, the daughter of Travis and Kimberly Grant, and Devan Loving have been identified as suspects in the case. Both have been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count each of felony conspiracy to commit murder.
The investigation remains active and ongoing with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Gatlinburg Police Department assisting in the case.
