Friday, Aug. 29

Boomtown Arts & Heritage FestAVL – 10 a.m., Pack Square Park and other venues

Montford Park Players present “Cyrano de Bergerac” – 7:30 p.m., Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre, 92 Gay St.

The Montford Park Players continue their 53rd season, “A Season of Lunatics, Lovers, & Poets,” with “Cyrano de Bergerac,” the romantic story of Cyrano, a man with a large nose and a larger wit. Read our review of the show here.

The Return of The King: An Unrivaled Tribute to Elvis – 7 p.m., Wortham Center for the Performing Arts

Tyler Christopher, an award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist, will soon bring his signature showmanship to the Asheville stage with “The Return of the King: An Unrivaled Tribute to Elvis.” The Elvis Tribute Artist has been performing the music of Elvis Presley for nearly 20 years, winning awards and placing in Elvis competitions all over the country, including Memphis, Tennessee and Elvis’s hometown, Tupelo, Mississippi.

2025 Blue Ridge Pride Pageant – 6:30 to 11 p.m., Eulogy, 10 Buxton Ave.

The annual Blue Ridge Pride Pageant returns! Contestants will compete for the title of Ms/Mr./Mx. Blue Ridge Pride this weekend through performance and costume. Tickets to the event can be purchased here.
