ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW.com) — Asheville Media Group’s Year of Revival Auction brought in $9,500 to support Marshall Relief Alliance, nearly a year after Hurricane Helene devastated communities across Western North Carolina.

The online auction, presented by John Mcclung Roofing, featured signed guitars, rare vinyl and exclusive memorabilia from music stars including Tyler Childers, Billy Strings, Joan Jett, Shawn Mendes, Bruno Mars, Rob Thomas, Bon Jovi, Bleachers, Meghan Trainor, Teddy Swims and more. Proceeds will help the Madison County nonprofit continue its long-term recovery work.

“Every dollar raised means more resources for the families and small businesses that are still rebuilding,” said Tasha Pumphrey, executive director of Marshall Relief Alliance. “What means just as much is the fresh energy this auction has brought to our work. The support and generosity of everyone who placed a bid sent a clear message to Marshall — our community is seen and loved.”

Shannon Steele, marketing director of Asheville Media Group, said the auction became about more than fundraising.

“The Year of Revival Auction was more than a fundraiser. It became a symbol of Western North Carolina — a reflection of how our mountain communities are bound together by a love of music and by caring for one another,” Steele said. “It’s a reminder that we are not defined by the storm that took so much, but by the people who continue to show up and support each other time and time again.”

The Marshall Relief Alliance was created days after Hurricane Helene swept through the mountains in September 2024, overwhelming downtown Marshall and leaving residents and businesses struggling to recover. The organization continues to coordinate relief and rebuilding efforts across Madison County and is still in need of volunteers to assist with ongoing projects.
