Dear Melanie & Crystal,

I have a dating dilemma. My 17-year marriage ended a year ago and have started dating again. I met a great guy who my 13-year-old daughter can’t stand. She’s going through the start of her teen years where she hates everybody, not to mention she has a terrible attitude. She’s asked me not to date my new guy. I’m torn about what to do. It’s hard to meet a great guy so I would hate to break up with him. On the other hand, I want to respect my daughter’s wishes. What should I do? – Megan
