Katherine Lambert, In North Carolina, more than 210,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s and 373,000 family and friends dedicate 723 million hours of unpaid care. The Alzheimer’s Association – Western Carolina Chapter is one of two chapters in North Carolina that provides education and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias throughout our state, including those living with the disease, caregivers, health care professionals and families. We are also committed to advocating for the needs and rights of those facing Alzheimer’s disease and advancing critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. Not sure where to start? If you are a caregiver or someone living with dementia, check out our support groups and education programs. And if you want to find a way to get involved with the fight to #ENDALZ, check out our events, volunteer opportunities and advocacy initiatives.
